Coolest Enrichment Ever

Tonight for enrichment, our relief society got to go on a tour of the the First Floor of the Church Office building after it was closed for the day.

We had a tour of a big marble room (that was first and we were a tiny bit late so not sure what it's for-but beautiful!), we then moved into the West Conference room. We got to sit around the table that the 12 apostles and the Prophet sit at, and we got to see how every spot at the table has a place for a microphone, laptop, power outlet and speakers, We got to see the projector come out of the ground, and then out of something else int the ground, 2 huge screens that had camaras on them, so we were on TV. His private secretary of 45 years was giving us this tour-she said that they have watched movies in there with President Monson-and that he buys the popcorn. (she said they watched Iron Will, and What about Bob with him)

After that we went into President Monson's 4 secretaries room. It's really big, they said one secretary, her main job is to open mail that is for President Monson, and that she decides what should make it through to his private secretary, or can be passed out to the Apostles, or the general authorities. His private secretary then said she goes through it, and divvies it up even more. Then we went into her office. It was nice, and was connected to President Monson's office. They had a German Nutcracker of Joseph Smith in her office. This year for Halloween they dressed the nutcracker up like Harry Potter. His secretary said that President Monson's favorite drink is 2% milk (no other %) and that she eats with him most days because he doesnt like to eat alone. She also said that she doesnt get a day off unless he is sick, or gone traveling, and that last year, she only got 3 vacation days. She told a lot of really funny stories of him.

We then got to go into the prophets private office. It was AMAZING. It was so beautiful. He had things that meant a lot to him all around the office. Lots of books, a cane that had every boy scout merit badge carved into it and painted, lots of fishing stuff, history books, etc. We got to sit in his chair at his desk. The spirit was so strong the whole time we were there. We also got to go into the OTHER boardroom, and she told us, they heard David Archuletta was in the building, tracked him down, and made him come sing in it. :-) She said the 2nd boardroom is where many presidents of the United States have sat, famous people all the time.

Sister ____Canteranfeield? said that a monsignor of the Catholic church, and a member of the Jewish senate in Isreal both in the last couple of years have contacted President Monson and asked for blessings from him (they both had cancer) There is so much to tell, I dont even know if this makes sense, but it was amazing, and I loved it

Afterwards the bishop treated the entire relief society to Cafe Rio-On-da-lay and yeehaw!!

So this last week at devotional we had someone named J. Ballard Washburn come speak to us and it was awesome! I even shed a tear for this cute old man. But there was something he said that I think you guys really need to hear (sisters) and husbands as well. I thought I would find the link for you because for rizz it's something you need to listen to and follow. It's Elder Washburns talk on you and your sweethearts mission in life.

(There is some key points farther into it that states somthing like... Pray before you stop having children and tell the Lord if he needs to send more you are willing ((be willing) and your not done until the Lord okays it. Something sorta like that. I thought you guys might like it.)

Must Read/Must Listen Too

Hey,

If you guys are looking for things to read, I'd like to recommend this book. It's amazing. I haven't actually READ it yet. I've listened to it on CD (all 18 CD's) and I have to say, in all seriousness, this book has impacted me more than any book that I have ever read. It's amazing. You will laugh, you will cry, and you will feel the Spirit, and at times, feel like your heart is breaking for these people. Please read this book.

Saylor's Blanket

So I finally finished Saylor's blanket. It was supposed to be for Christmas. Oops. I love how it turned out and think its freakin cute.
It was supposed to be quilted, well the one I was copying it from was quilted, but they did theirs on a machine and I don't have one, so I just decided to tie mine. I was real afraid it would make it not cute, but you can't really even tell, and I think its still cute with the ties. I used yarn for babies, so it was thinner and real soft. Its minkee and flannel in case anyone was wonderin. Everytime Saylor would come and feel it while I was tying or sewing it, she would say "Oh Mommy, its so soft." And yep it is and really heavy. Minkee is thick material. Any ways, so there you go peops, a project finished by me :)
